Virtuoso Travel Week Professional Standards for Attendance - Member Advisors
The Virtuoso network is synonymous with true professionalism. Preferred Suppliers routinely tell us that the experience of working with Virtuoso is very positive because of the high level of professionalism of the network. However, Virtuoso staff is routinely notified that unprofessional behavior occurs at Virtuoso Travel Week, from Preferred Suppliers and Members alike.
With the feedback received each year from Members and Preferred Suppliers being that Virtuoso Week is considered the single most important travel conference of each year, Virtuoso’s Conferences & Events team would like to remind all attendees of their professional standards and conference guidelines in attending Virtuoso Travel Week.
An individual’s attendance at Virtuoso Week signifies agreement to the below standards and guidelines.
Professional Standards
Member Solicitation
Virtuoso Members, including their employees, independent contractors, agents, and other representatives shall not initiate direct contact with or solicit/target any employee, agent, or independent contractor of another Virtuoso Member for employment or contracting purposes at any time or place.
Professionalism & Ethics
Virtuoso Members shall conduct themselves at all times as professionals during Virtuoso Travel Week and treat all event attendees professionally and ethically. In addition, Virtuoso Members shall treat Virtuoso Staff, Preferred Suppliers and venue staff with courtesy and respect, even when resolving conflicts. Virtuoso Members will treat other travel agents and Members professionally and shall refrain from criticizing them in public venues.
The Virtuoso Conferences & Events team asks Members to inform them of issues with Preferred Suppliers, other Virtuoso Members and Virtuoso Staff as they happen so that they can be addressed immediately.
Conference Guidelines
Name Badges
• Proof of identification will be required in order to receive registration materials, which includes name badges.
• Each attendee must wear their name badge at all times throughout the duration of the meeting.
• No one will be allowed in the convention area without their name badge.
• Name badges are not to be shared with anyone else.
• Name badges will be checked throughout the course of Virtuoso Travel Week to ensure that the individual has registered for attendance for that particular day.
• Individuals found within the conference area without a registration for that day will be:
- Immediately charged for that day’s registration cost plus a $100 penalty;
- Subject to immediate dismissal from Virtuoso Travel Week; and
- Subject to prohibition from attending future Virtuoso Travel Weeks.
Appointments
• Virtuoso Members must attend and be on time for all scheduled appointments including Virtuoso Travel Week 4-minute meetings as well as attendee selected appointments.
• In an effort to provide the Preferred Suppliers in attendance the courtesy of your attention during the 4-minute appointments, we also ask that you refrain from:
-
Using cellular phones, blackberries and all PDA equipment during appointments. Should a time arise that you need to tend to urgent business, we ask that you step outside of the ballroom rather than taking the phone call at the tables.
-
Soliciting Preferred Suppliers for personal or agency causes (including charities) during the appointments.
• Preferred Suppliers will be asked to report any Members who are not at their tables or conducting business during the Virtuoso Travel Week appointments to any Virtuoso staff member.
• Failure to attend scheduled appointments can result in an individual being:
- Subject to immediate dismissal from Virtuoso Travel Week; and/or
- Subject to prohibition from attending future Virtuoso Travel Weeks.
Virtuoso thanks you in advance for your attendance at Virtuoso Travel Week and your continued elevation of the Virtuoso network.
