Virtuoso Travel Week, one of the most important annual business gatherings in Las Vegas, seeks to encourage a greener Las Vegas for the future. Each year, Virtuoso makes hosting an environmentally friendly event a priority. In 2012, the network continues this commitment as part of its focus on sustainability initiatives.
For the fifth year in a row, supplier one-sheets have been eliminated from Virtuoso Travel Week appointments. As an environmentally conscious alternative, we offer that information in Virtuoso Composer. Members can access Supplier contacts, news, sales offers and promotions and more in Composer. As a result, it is important for Suppliers to ensure their information is accurate and up-to-date. Virtuoso will eliminate excessive paper and posters, and use only recycled paper when needed. We will digitize as much content as possible and necessary materials will be printed on Forest Stewardship Council-certified paper and/or paper containing 10% or more post-consumer fiber when possible.
At Virtuoso's request, Bellagio will sort and recycle paper, glass and aluminum products used during Virtuoso Travel Week.
A few other ways delegates attending Virtuoso Travel Week can also support a more environmentally-friendly event include:
- Reducing the amount of non-recyclable brochures and other marketing materials that you bring to Virtuoso Travel Week
- Using a digital flash drive for your company information materials
- Keeping a water bottle handy and refilling it at the Virtuoso Travel Week water stations rather than buying new bottles
- Considering a donation to a conservation charity as an alternative to handing out pens, key chains and other small items as part of your promotional efforts.
